Code: FC0214
Dimensions:
A pretty, reclaimed, cast iron bedroom combination fire for DECORATIVE USE ONLY. The fire, dating to C.1900, has a very nice period appearance with a wreath, bluebell swags and flowers along the crossbar. The fire has a domed smoke hood with a pretty wreath design. The fire retains its decorative front bars. The fire has two fixing lugs, one on either side of the crossbar, for fixings to attach the fire to the wall and there are tabs at the back of the mantel for sinking into the wall. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a nice finish.
The fire is in solid condition but is FOR DECORATIVE USE ONLY. The fire had a damaged back where the fire brick sat and it is now missing. The back has been replaced with a timber back and timber smoke flap, sprayed black and therefore the fire CANNOT BE USED and is for decorative use only. The iron has some casting marks and pitting, especially to one leg and the crossbar. The mantel back edge lugs have residue concrete or similar in them. The back of the fire has surface rust. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire has a very nice period design and would be ideal for adding decorative character to a bedroom.
