Dimensions:
An ornate, reclaimed, reproduction cast iron fire insert by Agnews. The insert is a reproduction of period designs and has a repeating border and decorative smoke hood featuring leaves and decorative motifs. The fire insert retains the front bars with nice detailing and an ashpan cover. The fire insert comes with a clay fireback and fire stool. The cast iron has been blacked and polished and has a good finish.
The fire insert is in good reclaimed condition with some signs of use, as expected. The iron has some pitting and casting marks. The back of the insert has surface rust and some residue plaster. The right hand back leg of the fire stool was broken and has been repaired by adding a large screw that now acts as a leg. The fire stool is stable and useable. The clay fireback has some small knocks and some marks. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire insert has a very nice appearance and it would make a nice feature for a fireplace.
