Dimensions:
A large and elegant reclaimed reproduction cast iron fire surround. The fire surround is solid and very heavy and has a pretty design, emulating period designs, with a decorative panel along the crossbar with a flower and leaves and there is a panel on each side of the crossbar with a flower in each. There is an ornate flower border under the mantel and there is a goat / ram head at the top of each leg. The iron has had a matt black heatproof spray applied to it. There is a fixing lug on either side, under the mantel, for attaching the surround to the wall and one on the outer edge of each foot. The surround is in solid reclaimed condition with some small signs of use and wear. There are some knocks and scratches, especially to the mantel edges. There are some casting marks and pitting. The back has surface rust. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surround is of a very good size and could be paired with a wood burner or a fire basket. The fire surround would make a nice feature for a fireplace and its elegant design makes it a desirable piece.
