Dimensions:
A large and elegant reclaimed reproduction cast iron fire surround. The fire surround is solid and very heavy and has a nice design, emulating period designs, with a raised and fielded panel on each leg and a crossbar with mouldings and a panel in each corner with a large shell and sea creatures below. There is a fixing lug on either side, under the mantel, for attaching the surround to the wall. There are fixing holes above the shell designs. The iron has been polished and has a nice finish. The mantel was damaged and has been replaced with an oak mantel that has been sprayed black. The surround is in solid reclaimed condition with some small signs of use and wear. The iron has some small knocks and casting marks. The back of the fire surround has surface rust. The oak mantel has a small knock to the front edge. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surround is of a very good size and its elegant design makes it a desirable item and an ideal feature for a fireplace.
