A reclaimed, decorative, elegant carved pine fire surround. The surround is a vintage reproduction of traditional designs of the late Victorian period. The fire surround has a very attractive appearance featuring leaves and flowers on each end of the crossbar and it has a panel in the centre. There are ornate corbels with a leaf design on each side, under the mantel and the legs have pretty flower detailing. There is a decorative border around the fire opening and around the mantel front and side edges. The pine has had a waxed finish. The fire surround could be paired with a cast iron insert or used for decorative purposes. The surround is in solid reclaimed condition with some signs of use and some damage, as expected of reclaimed items. The left hand corner of the mantel has some damage where it has been knocked (see last two pictures) and there are some further knocks and splintering to the mantel edges. The mantel top has some staining and scratches. The central panel on the crossbar has some light stains and a small hole. The sides of the legs have some paint or plaster residue left from where it was previously fitted. The pine has some stains, scratches and marks. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surround has a very ornate look and is ideal for a period home, making a fantastic addition to a fireplace.
