Dimensions:
A very decorative reclaimed vintage reproduction cast iron fire surround. The fire surround has an ornate appearance, emulating period designs, with column style legs with swag and twist detailing. The crossbar has leaf designs with fluting in-between each. There is a delicate decorative repeating border and fluting around the fire opening. The feet are nicely shaped. The fire surround has a decorative fixing lug on each side, under the mantel, for fixings to attach the surround to the wall. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a good finish. The fire surround is of a good size and is ideal for pairing with a fire basket or for surrounding a wood burner.
The surround is in good reclaimed condition with some signs of use and age, as expected. The cast iron has some casting marks and pitting, especially to the mantel. The mantel screws do not sit totally flush with the mantel. The back of the surround has surface rust. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surround has a very elegant and pretty design and it would make the ideal period statement piece for a home.
