Dimensions:
An elegant, hand carved, late Arts & Crafts fire surround, dating to C.1920s. The fire surround has a very attractive appearance featuring carved bead style borders on the legs and crossbar. There is a flower in the centre of the crossbar and flowers at each end. The mantel has moulded detailing on the front and side edges. The pine has had a waxed finish and it has a rich colour, highlighting the nice wood grain. Please note the inner edges of the legs have large rebates. The surround is in good reclaimed condition with some signs of use, as expected. There are some stains and marks, especially to the feet. There is some missing wax on the mantel and therefore the colour is slightly different in places. The pine has some small knocks, indentations and scratches. The surround has some small holes. There are some small gaps where some of the mouldings meet, around the fire opening. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surround has a lovely period look and it is a nice feature item for a fireplace.
