Four tall reclaimed, Victorian, painted pine shutters. The shutters are individuals and do not currently fit together but could with some work. The shutters comprise of three single leaves and one shutter that has a larger leaf and a thinner leaf that are attached, however the hinges have seized and they do not currently fold. The shutters do not fit together currently and are therefore not attached as the edges are either tapered or have closing beads. The edges will need to be made good so they can sit together. Please contact us if you would like advice on the work needed to make the shutters work together. The back face of the shutters have stay bars and receivers.
Each leaf has three recessed panels with mouldings on the front face, except for the plain thinner leaf. The back face of the shutters have flush panels. The shutters are in solid reclaimed condition with some signs of age and some damage as expected. Some of the hinges have seized and have rust. There are some knocks and chips and some damage to the bases and edges. The paint has flaking, chipping and some staining. The shutters have some holes and some surface cracks. The iron stay bar and receiver have some surface rust. The shutters have a lovely period appearance and would be ideal for a project.
Measurements are approximate and widths may change if edges are cut to make the shutters fit together.
