Solid oak floorboards with a 14cm face width. Length 1.9cm per board. Board thickness 2.2cm. Each board is priced at £24 including VAT.
The solid oak boards, from France, are seasoned and kiln dried. Some boards are made from reclaimed oak as the mill also cuts old timber. Some of the boards made using reclaimed timber have been quarter sawn so have attractive medullary rays. The boards have tongue and groove edges with the tongue and groove set up 50% through the board so you can choose which face to use when laying the oak. The board is a traditional product and there is no tongue and groove at the ends. The boards have lighter and darker areas and there is pippy oak and wood knots. The oak is unfinished, ready for you to apply your desired finish.
The boards will require time to acclimatise before fitting and are not to be stored in a damp area that has been recently plastered, screeded or painted. The boards will need 4 weeks to acclimatise in winter or 10 days in summer. If you do not allow for acclimatisation then the boards could either have gaps due to shrinkage as it dries or it could swell and buckle if the moisture content of the wood increases.
Boards are sold individually at £24 per board (working out at £90 per square metre). We have over 100 boards in stock at time of writing and we can offer a discount for purchases of larger quantities. Boards are available on a first come, first served basis.
