DP0493 PAIR OF RECLAIMED FRENCH OAK INTERNAL

DP0493 PAIR OF RECLAIMED FRENCH OAK INTERNAL "CHATEAU" DOORS & FRAME

Code: DP0493

£795.00

A pair of very elegant, reclaimed, French "chateau" oak doors and frame, C. 1890 -1900. The doors are very heavy and well made and have an attractive, traditionally French design with each door having two raised and fielded panels with decorative mouldings around them. The doors have an oak frame that sit around them. Both doors have ornate pin hinges. Both faces of the doors have a rustic, faded and cracked paint finish, with the front painted in white and green and the back an orange - cream colour. You may wish to sand and re-finish the doors to suit.

The doors are in solid condition with some signs of use and some damage, as expected of reclaimed antiques. There are some surface cracks, knocks, chips and small holes to the doors and frame. The doors have some indentations, holes and light damage where the original lock was removed and there are some further small holes from door furniture removal. The paint has a rustic faded, cracked paint finish with some scratches and marks. The base of the doors, especially the inner bottom corners, have some knocks and light damage. The door heights may need levelling as one is slightly taller. The frame has some splits. Please see pictures for condition details. The doors would be ideal for dividing a room and have an abundance of French character and would make a striking feature in a home.

Please note that the measurements are approximate as the doors are not hung in position. The widths differ on the front and back face due to the outer side edges being slightly tapered.
