A pair of reclaimed late Arts and Crafts, Gothic style, hardwood doors glazed with diamond glass and a stained glass panel, suitable for internal use. The doors are solid, very heavy and well made with hardwood outer frames and a large panel in each door that has been glazed with clear diamond leaded glass. Set within the top of the glazed panel, one door has a lovely stained glass panel. The other door is now fitted with clear glass as the stained glass panel was damaged. The stained glass panel features mythical sea creatures, a boat and a shield with a castle or cathedral. Each door has two metal saddle bars across the glass. One door has metal handles and the doors have some slide bolts on one face. The inner edges of the doors have a closing bead so they sit nicely together when closed.
The doors are in solid reclaimed condition with some signs of age and wear, as expected. The glass is bowing in areas and the doors are only suitable for internal use. One of the stained glass panels was damaged and has been replaced with clear glass. The remaining panel has a leaded repair across it. There is a crack to one piece of clear glass, above the stained glass panel. One clear glass diamond piece is missing. We can replace the missing diamond piece for an extra charge, please contact us for a quote. The wood has some knocks, chips and some scratches. There is some discolouration and some staining to the wood. Some of the glazing putty is missing. The door furniture and saddle bars have some tarnish and surface rust. The hinges have some rust and have seized. The door heights differ slightly and you may wish to level the doors slightly. The glass will require further cleaning. Please see pictures for condition details. The doors are handsome and nicely made and they would make a lovely feature in a home.
