A set of six reclaimed Mies Van Der Rohe MR533 for Thonet chairs. Mies Van Der Rohe was a German architect who also designed iconic furniture, such as the MR chair that was first made in 1927, emulating the style of a 19th Century rocking chair. The set of chairs have a steel frame and tan leather seat and back. The chairs have delicate stitching and a fantastic vintage / retro appearance. The chairs do have some signs of use and wear, adding to the vintage style. Each chair has some marks and slight staining to the leather. There is some light cracking at the ends where the leather is wrapped around the steel. There is some slight sagging to some of the seats due to use. There is very light scratching and tarnish to the steel. One chair has black stitching rather than white and a slightly different colour tone to the leather. The chairs are a wonderful example of the iconic MR design and would be perfect for a dining table or in a café or office. The chairs are in good useable condition and are a must for collectors.
One chair is missing one of the two stays under the leather. See last photo.
