Two fantastic antique oak wall panels that are likely to date to the Victorian period. The panels are thick and very well made with large raised and fielded panels that are surrounded by decorative mouldings. The oak has an attractive grain and has been waxed or stained giving the wood a rich colour. The panels were used for cladding a wall and they could be used for this purpose again. The panels are also ideal for using in a different manner, such as a bed head and foot board or bar / kitchen island frontage. The panels are in very good antique condition but do have some small signs of wear and use, as expected of reclaimed items. The base of the second panel has dark staining from previous use. The corners have some slight damage and knocks. One edge has a small gouge / hole. There is an area with some deep scratches and there are some light marks. The top panel (in the pictures) has a pine infill strip at its base. The panels are a fantastic example of Victorian workmanship and have a lovely period look, ideal for giving character to a wall or for repurposing and making into an unusual and interesting piece for the home.
