SOLD

An original, Victorian, wrought iron pub sign hanging bracket. The bracket is a large framework with central pole with spiked finial and wide supporting arms. The central pole has a large screw end that is designed to go through the brickwork and be secured. The central pole has a smaller pole underneath with two metal rings to hang a sign (wooden sign is for illustrative purposes) and is attached to a curved iron piece, with scrolling end, that is then attached to the wall. It is perhaps possible to fit the bracket by drilling into brickwork and then add a chemfix epoxy glue to secure the bracket. The bracket has been painted black but the paint has some flaking, chipping and bubbling and purchaser may prefer to repaint the ironwork. The bracket is in useable condition but has some signs of age, as expected of antique items. The bracket has some surface rust and wear. The bracket is slightly twisted, especially the side arms, due to age. The pub sign bracket is a fantastic Victorian item, ideal for a pub or business sign. The bracket has great period character and charm.
