A reclaimed Gothic elm or fruit wood bench. The bench has a fantastic Gothic style appearance with a carved sturdy leg at each end and two stretchers under the seat. The seat has Gothic carved ends with a curved or arched shape and notched detailing. The wood has had a wax or varnished finish but there are some scratches and marks and purchaser may prefer to sand and re-finish the bench or leave it rustic in appearance. The bench is of a good size, ideal for a hallway or boot room or could be paired with a dining table. The bench is solid and useable but has some signs of use and age, as expected of reclaimed antique items. There are some small marks and scratches. There are a few notches and chips, especially to the base of the legs and seat edges. One end has a split but the bench is stable. There are some visible nails and further thin splits. Please see pictures for condition details. The bench is perfect for a country home or cottage and has lovely, Gothic, period style.
