An attractive rustic oak table top with a reclaimed antique trestle base. The table has been made using seasoned oak that sits on an original antique metal trestle base that compliments the rustic oak top. The table top has been made using 4 oak planks with slender oak border pieces surrounding them, finishing the table edges nicely. The table top has been sealed with a satin varnish. The antique trestle base has been blacked and has an attractive look with curved feet and a thin stretcher. The table top lifts off and therefore it could be packed away when not required and also makes it easier to transport. The top presses down onto the base nicely when put together and is solid and stable.
The table base is reclaimed and the top is of a rustic appearance. The oak has some wood knot holes, surface splits, marks and some cut outs on each side where the table top sits on the base. The oak has some cut marks and some splintering to the edges of the planks, adding to the rustic character. The antique trestles have some small knocks, patina and surface rust. Please see pictures for details.
The table could be used as a dining table or an occasional use table but it is not suitable for use outside as it has no protection against weather. The table has great rustic character and has a fantastic design that is both desirable and useful for the home.
