A fantastic, reclaimed, vintage apothecary chest with twelve drawers. The chest is likely to date to the early to mid 20th century and has a wonderful vintage look. The twelve drawers are oak fronted and the top of the chest has a wooden lip around the back and sides. Each drawer has a brass cup handle. The sides have some pine and ply elements. The back of the apothecary chest was originally sloped, we believe the chest may have been fitted in a ship previously. The back has now had some work carried out to make it square. The chest has a rich colour, with some fading that adds to its character and it has been given a wax finish recently.
The apothecary chest is in good reclaimed condition with some signs of age, giving it great vintage character. The joins in the wood to make the back square can be seen when looking at the sides. There are some small knocks and chips in the wood and the top has some scratches and marks. The top edges of the chest have some knocks. The drawers have board liners. The drawer handles have some dents and tarnish. Please see pictures for condition details. The apothecary chest has a good amount of storage and is a great characterful item, ideal for making a fantastic feature in a home or business.
