A fantastic, unique, oak topped kitchen island or work / craft table. The kitchen island has been created using an old industrial drapers table that originally had a sewing machine attached to it. The base has one drawer and a cupboard on the other side with shelves for storage. The kitchen island top has been constructed by using a solid 22mm oak layer over an 18mm ply sheet for stability. The top has been banded with a solid oak border. The base of the island also has an oak layer (22mm thick) with an oak lipped border. The oak base is ideal for kitchen storage, perhaps crockery or food items. The oak top has been treated with osmo worktop oil. The metal base has been shot blasted and brushed and then spray lacquered. The top is stable and is bolted to the base with 11 bolts but these can be undone and the top removed for transportation. Please note the kitchen island is very heavy. The island could also be used for craft or as a work table and is a good height for laptop use. The metal base is reclaimed and has character signs of wear and use, making it ideal for adding industrial charm to a space. The metal base has some natural patina, very light surface rust patches, scuffs and marks. Some small knocks can be seen. The kitchen island is a large, heavy and very well constructed item that is an unusual and rare piece. The island is an ideal statement piece for a home or office and is very desirable and has an abundance of character.
