Code: M2390
A reclaimed antique rim lock, keep and brass handles. The rim lock is universal and is for use on either the right or left hand side of a door. The lock has no key and is therefore suitable for internal use and a door that does not require locking. The lock has a brass escutcheon and handle plate. The lock has a small brass plaque that has a registered design number, 389514, dating it to 1902. The lock has been stripped and has had an oil applied to it. The lock edges have tabs with holes for fixing screws.
The lock is paired with very nice reclaimed brass handles. The handles are adjustable with two collars, one of which screws up or down to accommodate doors of 3.4cm thickness - 4.5cm thickness approximately. The collars have an over collar that screws over the adjustable collars to cover them and there is a handle plate for that side. Please see the last 3 pictures for details of how the handles adjust. We have included screws for the handles, lock, lock sides and keep.
The lock has no key and is therefore suitable for internal use and for a door that does not require locking. The lock has some scratches, scuffs and residue paint and the back has some residue paint and some surface rust. The handles have some tarnish and some dents. The spindle has some surface rust and therefore the screw collars are quite stiff. The cover collar of the handle has some small knicks. Please see pictures for condition details. The lock is a quality antique item and it would add great period charm to a door.
