An original Edwardian pitch pine door that has been fitted with a beautiful, original, Art Nouveau stained glass panel. The door is very well made and is of the same era as the glass. The glass features curved and scrolling designs with stylistic flowers, typical of the Art Nouveau style. The glass is bright and clear and there are textured green border pieces with purple square corner pieces that surround the main design. The glass has been restored to a very high standard and has strengthening bars. The glass may need metal ties attached to the bars to secure it further as the panel has some slight movement. Please contact us to discuss this. The door is suited to both exterior and interior use but will need a toughened glass panel added to the front of the stained glass if to be used externally. Please contact us for a quote for toughened glass. Below the stained glass panel are two plain recessed panels. The door retains the original paintwork, that has been partially rubbed back, and it will need sanding and re-painting by purchaser to suit. The door is antique and therefore has some slight signs of age and wear. There are some stains and marks, especially to the base edges of the door. The glass may need some further strengthening with ties. There are some small knocks, marks and chips and slight damage to the corners and edges. Some bubbles and very slight scratches to the glass. A baton has been added to the door, under the glass, when the glass was fitted. Please see pictures for condition details. The door is a stunning item with the glass illustrating the best of Art Nouveau design. The door is a very desirable and attractive piece that will add great character to a home.
