A very attractive, reclaimed, pitch pine door suitable for internal or external use. The door is very heavy and well made with mortise and tenon joints and has a stunning and unusual wood grain. The door has six recessed panels with mouldings and each panel has been quarter sawn to show the beautiful wood grain with intricate swirling patterns. The door has a high shine varnished finish that highlights the wood grain and the deep colour of the pitch pine. Please note that the varnish does have some flaking, fading and some scratches and purchaser may wish to sand and re-finish the door to suit. The door is suitable for internal or external use but the door will need a finish that is suitable for protection against weather if it is to be used externally. The door has 3 brass hinges, other hardware will need to be supplied by purchaser. The door is in solid reclaimed condition with some signs of wear and some damage, as expected. The door has some holes and marks from hardware removal and there are some shadows left from finger plates. The door has some knocks, notches, indentations and chips, especially to the edges and sides. There is some light damage to one base corner and the other has some knocks. There are some surface splits in the panels. The hinges have some tarnish. The door height may need slight levelling. Please see pictures for condition details. The door is a very nice item with a very unusual and attractive grain making the door an ideal show piece for the home.
