An elegant and petite, reclaimed, reproduction cast iron fire register / fire basket that is approximately 50 years old. The register is a reproduction of period designs of the late Victorian / early Edwardian era and has a pretty appearance with an arch topped built in fire back with a wreath, ribbons, bows and swags. The front legs have flowers running down them and claw feet and each leg is topped with a decorative brass finial. There are slightly curved front and side bars. The register has an ash pan and a decorative ash pan cover with swags and bows and a brass handle. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a good finish. The fire register is in good reclaimed condition with some signs of use and wear, as expected. The middle grill bar is missing. There are some small casting marks and pitting. The brass finials and handle have very slight tarnish. The ash pan has surface rust. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire register has a very nice period style appearance and it would make a lovely feature in a fireplace.
