A pair of Georgian, cast iron, fire cheeks / sides. The fire cheeks have a large rams head detail to the top, with swags and bows. The body of the sides have a vertical linear design and the base has raised wheat sheaves. Fire cheeks are designed to sit either side of the fire opening or at the back of a wood burning stove and are often paired with large fire surrounds that stand proud from the wall. The fire cheeks have fixing wires on the back to fix to the wall. The fire sides would look ideal with an antique marble fire or antique stove. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a rich colour and finish. The fire cheeks are antique and therefore have some signs of use. The back has some surface rust and tarnish. Some casting marks and slight pitting can be seen plus slight tarnish to front face in small areas. A pair of beautifully designed fire accessories that illustrate fantastic Georgian design. PLEASE NOTE we have very similar fire cheeks available for sale. Please see our other listings for details.
