A set of reclaimed modern and antique fireplace tiles. The 8 square tiles are modern reproductions of period designs and are made by H&R Johnson Tiles. The tiles have a very pretty appearance with shapes and leaves and a decorative border. The colours are bright and the design clear. The back of each tile has the makers name and "Made in England". The square tiles have been paired with 6 tiles of 1/3 size, making the set of tiles the size required for fitting into a tiled fire. The green tiles are antique and have a very nice colour and compliment the decorative tiles well. The green tiles are 4mm thicker than the modern tiles but you can pack out the back of the fire (see last picture for an example) to ensure they sit well together within a fire. Please ask if you would like any advice about fitting the tiles within a fire.
The modern tiles appear to have only had light use. The tiles have some very small marks, imperfections and very small chips to a few corners and edges. The back of the tiles have some light staining. The green reclaimed antique tiles have some small knocks and chips and the tile glaze has crazing. There is some residue plaster on the sides and backs of the antique tiles. There are some slight stains and marks to the green tiles. Please see pictures for condition details. The tiles have a very nice appearance and would add great character to a fire.
