A set of very elegant reclaimed Victorian intaglio border tiles from Carter & Co, Poole Pottery. The set comprises of 12 tiles and they are very finely made. Each tile has a beautiful raised scallop shell design with scrolls and leaves surrounding them. The raised design is in a pale yellow / brown and there is a dark brown colour surrounding it. The intaglio tiles have the design indented into the back face of them. The tiles are in good reclaimed condition with some signs of age and wear, as expected. The tiles have some small chips, scratches and marks and there are some knocks to the edges of the tiles. The tile glaze has crazing. There is some very slight paint residue on a few tiles. The backs have some small knocks and plaster residue. Please see pictures for condition details. The tiles are very well made and are very desirable, ideal for a project or adding period character to a home.
The set includes 12 tiles but we may have some more of the same, please enquire.
