Dimensions:
A reproduction, possibly Edwardian, cast iron fire basket with integral fireback. The fireback has a lovely Adam Style design and attractive shaping to the edges. The front and side bars have an interesting leaf design and the basket has an ashpan with cover. The fire basket is in good, useable condition and has been blacked and polished. There is some slight surface rust to the front and the back has surface rust, as expected of reclaimed items. The fireback does have a crack (please see photos for details) but this is not particuarly noticeable and does not affect the stability of the item. The fire has slight scratches and signs of wear. The design is clear and well cast. A lovely fire basket that would add great style and character to a hearth.
