A very large, heavy, reclaimed, reproduction cast iron fire back. The fire back is very decorative with a shaped top and scrolled sides. The fire back depicts a traditional scene featuring a crest with eagle or raven type birds on either side. The top and base has scrolling detail. The fire back is perfect for pairing with a fire basket or grate. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a lovely finish. The fire back is solid and useable but is reclaimed and therefore has some slight signs of use and wear. There are some small casting marks, pitting and scratches and there is some surface rust to the back as expected. The fire back has a lovely period design and it would add great character and charm to a large fireplace.
