A reclaimed cast iron swans nest fire basket and antique cast iron fire dogs. The fire basket has a good space for burning and is heavy and well made. The basket has a traditional swans nest shape with spiked finials, including a row at the front of the basket to stop coals falling out. The basket rests on antique fire dogs with arched feet and finials with a 'swan neck' design. The basket and fire dogs have been blacked and polished. The basket and fire dogs are reclaimed and therefore have some slight signs of use and wear. There are some areas of surface rust, especially to the fire dogs. There is some slight tarnish, casting marks and pitting to the basket and fire dogs. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire basket is of a good size and design and would make a lovely, period style, feature in a hearth.
