A reclaimed cast iron fire basket. The fire basket is a reproduction of Arts and Crafts designs and has a very nice appearance. The fire basket has integrated fire dog style front legs with a "swans neck" design and decorative finials. The basket has similar finials and traditional bars at the front and sides for keeping coals and logs in. The basket has a thick integrated fire brick, cast iron fire back and there is a sturdy grill for burning. The cast iron has been cleaned, blacked and polished and it has a good finish. The fire basket is reclaimed and therefore has some signs of age and use. The iron has some casting marks, uneven patches and some scratches and marks. The fire brick has some chips, knocks and uneven edges. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire basket has a fantastic Arts and Crafts appearance, ideal for both period and modern properties and would make a very nice feature within a fire place.
