A heavy, reclaimed, cast iron, brass and steel fire basket. The fire basket is a reproduction of antique French designs and has an ornate appearance. The basket has a very decorative cast iron top piece with acanthus leaves and flower petals. The basket has decorative legs with brass leaves applied to them. There are brass finials on each side of the basket and a pretty brass piece attached to the steel section under the front bars. The basket has a concrete fire back and grill for burning. The iron has been blacked and polished. The fire basket is in good reclaimed condition with some small signs of use and wear, as expected. The brass and steel has some slight tarnish. There is a knock to the front edge near the left leg (when looking at the basket). The concrete back has some knocks and scratches. The back and grill underside have some surface rust. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire basket is a very nice item with a great period style, ideal for adding character to a fireplace.
