A very large, reclaimed, cast iron swans nest fire basket. The stand alone swans nest basket has an elegant and simple design with delicate vine detailing on each of the four feet. The swans nest basket is very large and quite deep and has traditional spiked finials on all four sides. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a good finish. The fire basket is in good reclaimed condition with some signs of age and use, as expected. One spiked final has been broken off. There are some small scratches and knocks. Two small holes have been made at the back of the basket. The iron has some pitting and casting marks. Please see pictures for condition details. The basket has a very nice look, ideal for period or modern properties and its size is a real feature. The swans nest basket will make a very nice addition to a fireplace.
