A very large reclaimed cast iron swans nest fire basket and decorative fire dogs. The fire basket is of a very large size and has a traditional design with spiked finials on the front and side edges. The fire basket is paired with two elegant fire dogs with scrolled feet and each fire dog has a hook on the front. The swans nest basket fits on the fire dogs which have iron stoppers to keep the fire basket in place. Please note that the stoppers are in slightly different positions on each fire dog and therefore the basket can sit straight by placing one stopper in the third rung of the grill and the other stopper on the second rung (please see pictures 4 & 5 for details). The cast iron has been blacked and polished and has a nice finish. The basket and fire dogs are in very good reclaimed condition with some small signs of use and wear, as expected. The iron has some small scratches, casting marks and pitting. Please see pictures for condition details. The basket and fire dogs have a very nice look and they will make a lovely feature for a fireplace.
Please note we have a large fire back that would fit with this basket, for sale, sold separately to the basket and fire dogs. Please see FB0174 for details.
