A reclaimed, reproduction, restored cast iron and brass fire register / fire basket. The register dates to C.1950 and is a very heavy and very nice quality reproduction of Georgian designs. The register has a cast iron back with a shaped top with a large medallion design, pretty leaves and swags. The register retains its original front bars and grill and it has an ornate brass apron with flowers and serpents. The brass legs have scrolling detail and the fire register has four elegant brass finials. There is a thick built in fire brick. The fire register is in good reclaimed with some signs of use and wear, as expected. The filler at the edges of the fire brick has some cracks and some of the filler is missing. The iron has some small knocks and some casting marks. The brass has some tarnish and scratches. The back and sides have some surface rust. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire register has a very fine period appearance and it would make a fantastic feature for a fireplace.
