Code: FC0048
Dimensions:
A very pretty, petite, Victorian cast iron bedroom combination fire. The fire is decorative with a lovely central panel featuring cast poppies in an urn surrounded by square patterns. The legs have reeded designs and decorative squares in each corner. The fire retains its original smoke flap and shaped front bars with serpentine detailing. Both fixing lugs are present on the sides of the fire so it can be secured to the wall. The iron is blacked and polished and has a rich colour and finish. The fire has a registered design number on the reverse, RD 145562, dating the fire to 1890. The fire is of an ideal size for use in a bedroom or small reception room and is fully functional or it could be used for decorative purposes. The fire is antique and therefore has some slight signs of use and wear. There are some small casting marks and scratches to the iron. There are some slight surface cracks to the concrete fire back. The back has surface rust as expected. The fire is a very pretty example of Victorian design and would add character and charm to a period home.
