A handsome Victorian cast iron combination fireplace with an ornate design. The fire is of a good size and would be suitable for a bedroom or smaller reception room. The fire has an attractive smoke hood with pretty leaf design. The cross bar has an acanthus leaf design and the tops of the legs have ornate designs and reeded designs running down the length of the legs. The fire retains the original shaped front bars and fixing lugs. The iron has been blacked and polished. The back has a registered design mark, RD242996, dating the fire to 1894. The fire is in very good antique condition with only light signs of use and wear. The back has surface rust as expected. The fire has some small casting marks, tarnish and scratches. One of the top plate stay lugs has some slight damage. Suitable for a bedroom and ideal for a period property, the fire is a very attractive and desirable item. A fine example of Victorian design.
