A pretty, classic style, Victorian cast iron combination fireplace, suitable for a bedroom or smaller reception room. The fire has an attractive appearance with flower detailing to the top corners and decorative beads below the mantel. The fire has a simple panel below the mantel and original curved front bars. The fire has a curved ash pan cover but no ash pan. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a lovely finish. There is a registered design mark and date on the back of the fire, dating it to 1849. The fire is in good condition but has some slight signs of wear consistent with age. One fixing lug is missing. There are some light marks, scratches and casting marks. The back has surface rust as expected. There are some slight gaps between the smoke flap and the fire. The concrete fire back has some slight chips to the corners. There is s small gap between the ash pan cover and front bars. The fire's classical design makes it suitable for both period and more modern properties and is a desirable item and a fine example of Victorian design.
