A very pretty Edwardian cast iron combination fireplace for a bedroom or living room. The fire has a beautiful canopy smoke hood with flower motif and rope edge border. There are delicate borders running down the legs with a column style top. The fire retains its original, shaped, front bars. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a lovely finish. The fire has some slight damage that is mainly cosmetic. The front bars have a crack and there is a thin crack that runs under the mantel along the thin border. The crack does go through to the back but the fire is still solid. The fixing lugs were missing and they have been replaced with small metal fixing lugs. The smoke flap is a modern replacement. There are some small scratches, marks and pitting and the back has surface rust as expected. There are some scratches on the mantel, especially around the fixing screws. Ideal for a period property, the fire is a very pretty and desirable item. A fine example of Edwardian design.
