Dimensions:
An original antique reclaimed cast iron combination fireplace. The fire is of an ideal size for a living room or bedroom and has a very ornate design. The back has a registered design number, RD127447, dating the fire to 1889. The fire has an intricately patterned border around the fire opening and under the mantel and there is a central arched design with a sun or flower pattern. There is attractive flower detailing inside the fire opening. The front bars are present and there are 2 fixing lugs at the top of the fire. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a lovely finish. The fire is in very good, solid, condition but has some signs of age and use, as expected of antique items. The back has surface rust. There are some casting marks, knocks, pitting and some small scratches, please see pictures for details. The fire is a particularly fine example of Victorian design and is a desirable item that would add character and charm to a home.
