A very pretty, reclaimed, Art Nouveau cast iron combination fireplace that is of the ideal size for a bedroom. The fire has a number on the back, possibly a registered design number, that would date the fire to 1885. The fire has a style typical of the Art Nouveau period, with a flower and leaf design along the crossbar. There are intricate designs in the corners and on the canopy smoke hood. The legs have pretty detailing. The fire retains its original front bars and smoke flap and the concrete back is in tact. There are small holes on either side for fixing screws. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a lovely finish. The fire is in good condition but has some signs of age and use, as expected of antique items. The back has some surface rust. There are some small scratches, pitting and casting marks. The mantel screws are new and sit slightly proud of the mantel. The mantel edge has some small dents. The fire has a very attractive appearance that is ideal for a period home and has great character and charm.
