Dimensions:
A very pretty, reclaimed, cast iron combination fireplace dating to the Victorian period. The fire is of a petite size, perfect for a bedroom or smaller reception room and it is solid and finely cast. The fire has a very ornate appearance with an Adam style design, typical of the era. The cross bar has a decorative urn and leaves and there are similar designs in each corner. The fire has an attractive canopy smoke hood with a flower design. The legs have reeded panels and large flowers and the feet are chunky and decorative. The mantel has moulded edging. The fire retains its smoke flap and original, decorative, front bars. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a lovely finish. The fire is in good condition but has some signs of age and use, as expected of antique items. The back has some surface rust and there is some surface rust to both sides of the top plate. Some small scratches, pitting and casting marks can be seen. The concrete fire back has some knocks to the edges and small holes. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire has beautiful appearance, illustrating the best of Victorian style, and is ideal for adding character and charm to a period home.
