SOLD

A very handsome, reclaimed, Victorian cast iron fire front with fire brick and fire stool. The fire has a stunning appearance with a very decorative Brighton Pavillion style smoke hood. The fire has column style fluted legs and there are dentil mouldings under the mantel. The fire retains its shaped front bars and decorative ashpan cover. The fire is paired with a new 18" fire brick with the front sprayed black and a reclaimed fire stool. The fire is of a good size for a living room or larger bedroom. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a fantastic finish. The fire has a registered design number, RD299386, dating the fire to 1897. The fire is in good reclaimed condition but has some signs of use and some damage. There is some damage to the right hand side of the fire where there is a crack from the outer edge to the centre, above the leg, however the fire is stable. The back of the insert has some surface rust. The fire front has some light scratches, pitting and casting marks, especially to the cross bar and smoke hood. The feet have some marks and scuffing. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire has an exceptional design and would look stunning in a period home.
