An elegant, reclaimed, antique cast iron fire front dating to C.1900. The fire front is paired with a cast iron stool, ash pan cover and concrete fire back. The fire front has a pretty and classic design with hearts above the fire opening and a shaped smoke hood with a textured finish. There is a simple and elegant border around the fire opening and panel detailing on the crossbar. The mantel is of a good size with moulding detail around the front and side edges. The fire front has decorative front bars that are bolted to the fire and an ashpan cover with small handle. The fire front has a small cast iron stool and a concrete fire back that sits within the fire cavity. There is a fixing lug on each side, under the mantel and tabs at the bottom of each foot for fitting into the hearth. The fire front has been blacked and polished and has a nice finish. The fire is in good reclaimed condition with some signs of age and wear, as expected. The fire front has some small scratches, knocks and casting marks. There are some small knocks to the grill and the underside has some surface rust. The back of the fire front has some surface rust. The concrete fire back has some small cracks and knocks but is in good solid condition. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire front has a nice design that is simple and attractive, complimenting both period and modern homes.
