Code: FF0022
Dimensions:
A rare and decorative reclaimed cast iron fire fender. The fender, likely to date to the Victorian period, has a fantastic look and is a rare find as it is made of cast iron and has a curved shape. The fender has two bars and a base rail. The base rail has a repeating diamond style design and there are three pillars or columns, one at each end and one in the centre with decorative features and finials. The cast iron appears to have a black painted finish but there are some losses to the finish and some surface rust is showing. The fender is in solid condition with some small knocks and scratches, as expected of reclaimed antique items. Please see pictures for condition details. The fender is an interesting and rare item and is a great example of period design, ideal for adding character to a fireplace.
