A very attractive reclaimed Aesthetic Movement, Victorian, cast iron fire front with tiles. The fire front is very handsome, with ornate detailing. The top of the fire has intricate designs, with a swan at its centre and the swan is surrounded by leaves and fruit. There are decorative borders around the outer edge and the fire has the original front bars. The fire has decorative tiles on either side of the fire opening. The fire includes 10 interesting and differing tiles but they are not fixed and can be removed and be replaced for tiles to suit. The fire front comes with a new fire brick and reclaimed fire stool and the brick sits within the fire cavity and the fire front sits in front of it. The fire has a kite dating mark on the back and although it is now unreadable we can tell the fire pre-dates 1884 when a new dating system was introduced. The fire is in very good condition and usable, however there are some small signs of use and wear, as expected of antique items. The back has surface rust. The included tiles have some small chips to the edges and some scratches and cracks to the glazing. There is some slight chipping to the tile paint. Some small marks and scratches to the iron. The fire has a stunning appearance and is solid and finely made. Purchaser can keep the tiles or buy tiles to suit and therefore the fire is a versatile and attractive item that would add great character to a home.
