An attractive Edwardian cast iron fire front with brass trim and decorative fire cheeks . The fire is in the Georgian style and the design reflects this. The fire has Adam style decoration with urns, swags and flowers, typical of the time. The fire front has decorative columns and next to these are brass trims on each edge. The fire cheeks sit behind the brass edging and have similar Adam style motifs. The fire front has the original curved front bars and there are small portraits cast on either side. The iron has been blacked and polished giving the fire a rich finish. The set is antique and therefore has some slight signs of use and wear. Small marks, scratches and signs of age can be seen. There is a small crack to one of the fire cheeks, in the decorative area, please see pictures for details. The crack is not structural and does not affect the strength of the item. The brass trim has some slight tarnish. The back has some surface rust as expected. A beautiful and interesting fire set with a great deal of character that would be perfect for a period home.
