A very pretty, petite, cast iron Art Nouveau fire front with an attractive oak mantel. The fire front is designed to sit at the front of a fire opening and is to be paired with a fire basket. The cast iron has a beautiful design with traditional Art Nouveau flowers. The front bars are original and have a pretty waved iron design. The legs have decorative borders. The fire has the four original decorative fixing lugs for attaching to the wall. The fire does have a replacement mantel made of an old oak beam that has a waxed finish. The mantel compliments the fire very well. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a quality finish. The fire has had some damage with a break along the body of the fire. The break has been repaired to a high standard and the fire is solid. The repairs are only noticeable on very close inspection, please see pictures for details. The repairs can be seen to the back. The iron has some very small scratches and marks. The back has surface rust as expected. The mantel has some character knocks and surface cracks and has a lovely rustic appearance. The fire front is a very desirable item with a great deal of style. Ideal for a period or modern property, the fire is a quality item.
