A pretty Victorian cast iron tiled fire insert. The fire insert has an attractive design, typical of the period, with flowers and leaves forming a border around the fire opening. The fire has pretty painted and textured tiles in brown, green and cream featuring leaves, framed by slim textured border tiles. The smoke hood also has tiles, which is an unusual and very attractive feature. The tiles within the smoke hood are very ornate with acanthus leaf border tiles and a central tile of the same design as the square tiles on each side of the fire opening. The cast iron has been blacked and polished and has a lovely finish. The fire has been photographed with a concrete fire brick and fire stool. These are available seperately for an extra charge (prices listed below), please contact us if you wish to purchase the stool and fire brick too. The fire is in very good antique condition but there are some signs of wear and age, as expected. The back has surface rust as expected. The tiles have some crazing and small knocks and chips. Some small marks, tarnish and scratches to the front of the fire. The fire is of an ideal size for a living or dining room and has a pretty design, complimented by the antique fire tiles.
