A very elegant, original Victorian, tiled cast iron fire insert / front. The cast iron insert has a very nice design with an ornate smoke hood with scalloped edge and pretty flower design. A particular feature of the fire insert is the beautiful Arts and Crafts fire tiles that are on either side of the fire opening. The large blue and white tiles are very attractive, with differing flower and leaf designs in a central square that are surrounded by smaller squares with a repeating alternating pattern of leaves and a single flower. The fire insert has retained its original front bars. The fire could be paired with a wooden fire surround and we have photographed it with a surround for illustrative purposes. Please note the wooden surround is NOT INCULDED in the price and is available separately for an extra cost. The fire surround,  reference FS0164, is slightly too tall but we could possibly cut the legs down in size to fit. Please contact us if you are interested in also purchasing the surround. The fire insert has also been photographed with a reclaimed cast iron fire stool and modern concrete fire brick. We can supply these with the insert for an EXTRA £100. The fire stool has some surface rust but it can be sprayed black for sale. Please let us know prior to purchase if you wish to buy the fire stool and fire brick with the fire insert. The fire insert is in solid condition with some signs of age and some damage, as expected of reclaimed antiques. The iron has some knocks and casting marks. There is a break to the middle front bar and some breaks to the top back edge of the fire but this should not be seen as it will be fitted into the fire cavity. The tiles have some large breaks but they are stable within the fire. There are some knocks and chips to the tiles and there are some scratches, some fading and some smoke residue. The fire brick (extra) has some small chips. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire insert is a beautiful reclaimed item and a great example of late Victorian design. The fire would be ideal for a living or dining room and would add great character to a fireplace.
