A handsome, reclaimed, reproduction cast iron fire insert. The "Crown" insert, made by Gallery, has a traditional period appearance with a deep arch with simple borders surrounding it. The fire opening is arched and the fire has curved front bars. The concrete fire back is in good condition and has a ridged detailing. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a nice finish. The fire insert can be paired with a fire surround and has been photographed with a painted pine fire surround for illustrative purposes. PLEASE NOTE: the fire surround is not included in the listing price and is available to purchase separately, please see reference FS0174 for details. The surround is currently too tall for the insert but could perhaps be cut down, please contact us to discuss this if you would like to buy the surround and the insert. The fire insert is in good condition with some slight signs of use, as expected of reclaimed items. The iron has some small marks and scratches. The fire grate has some wear and signs of use. The back of the fire has some surface rust, as expected. Some new bolts can be seen at the back of the insert. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire insert is an elegant reproduction item with a traditional design and it would make a lovely addition to a fireplace in both period and modern properties.
