A very pretty Edwardian painted pine fire surround. The fire has an ornate design with moulded detailing around the mantel edge and carved decoration below this. The fire surround has decorative corbels under either side of the mantel and in the centre. The fire opening is surrounded by decorative mouldings that stand out from the body of the fire. The pine has been painted cream but the paint does have some chips, stains and knocks and purchaser will need to strip and repaint the surround to suit. The fire is perfect for surrounding a cast iron fire insert. The fire surround is a reclaimed antique and therefore has some signs of wear and use, as expected. The paint has some chipping, stains and knocks and the surround will need stripping and refinishing. There are some knocks and chips, especially to the surround edges and mantel. The feet have some knocks and scuffs. The surround is well made and has an elegant appearance, perfect for finishing a fireplace.
